Ultimately, it all comes down to choice. Rockstar has created a romance, a story, and a rich and immersive world, but what you do with them is up to you.
"We are always trying to find that balance between freedom and storytelling," explains Nelson. "It is a challenge, and sometimes when you are trying to create a specific or hopefully compelling narrative, the narrative aspect does need to take precedence at times – at least for us it does. To move the narrative forward in a believable way, you have to hit these beats, and so in those cases we have to kind of guide the experience. But with this game we have made a very conscious effort to open things up where possible – without compromising the quality of the experience."
"We are very excited about some of what we have going on now in the open world, with how it reacts to you and the systems we have working together. We have a lot of emergent natural-feeling stuff happening pretty often now as you roam around the world. That was truly emergent for me, when we drove past that car park and Jason suggested we do that job – I hadn't actually heard that dialogue from him myself yet. And it worked – I was going to a pawn shop, then Jason said, 'Should we go do this?' as we drove by, and I changed my mind."
That's the other big change for GTA 6. You've been able to swap between multiple protagonists in a GTA game before, but this time around you can swap between Jason and Lucia, and nurture their relationship as its own specific unit.
"There is a system that tracks what sort of criminal you are. And then there is also a relationship system," explains Nelson. "They're separate. You manage the relationship in the way you hopefully nurture any relationship – which is by spending time together. So being in the open world and exploring together or doing activities together, playing pool or mini golf or kayaking; normal slice of life things. Or, robbing stores together, robbing banks together. However players want to spend that time together, it will have a positive impact on the relationship."
"With the relationship, we start Jason and Lucia off wanting to give it a shot, but just going through the story and playing missions together may not be enough to keep them together," Nelson warns. "You'll have to keep them together by spending a bit of time together in the open world, and then hopefully that will reinforce your connection to them and increase your investment in their story."
"As much pressure as we feel externally, I don't think it can compare to the pressure we put on ourselves as a team. Everyone wants things to be perfect. We are nervous! Nervous, of course, but also excited to see how people respond to this video and then ultimately the game. It is definitely a step forward in all respects for us – the size of the world and how deep it feels."
"There is a whole other world in Red Dead Redemption 2," Nelson says, "GTA 6 is very much like that. There's a whole lot of stuff that you discover emergently that we're not necessarily directing you to through objectives or blips or icons on a map as well. If you take a bit of time and explore you will be rewarded – a lot."
Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released on November 19.

1. come down to 含义:归根结底是 原文出处:Ultimately, it all comes down to choice. Success comes down to three things: talent, luck, and timing.
2. take precedence 含义:优先,居于首位 原文出处:the narrative aspect does need to take precedence 写作拓展:Safety should take precedence over speed.
3. up to you 含义:由你决定 原文出处:what you do with them is up to you 写作拓展:Whether we go or stay is up to you.

7. in all respects 含义:在各个方面 原文出处:a step forward in all respects 写作拓展:The plan is sound in all respects.
8. hit these beats 含义:踩准(叙事)节拍(编剧/游戏术语) 原文出处:you have to hit these beats 写作拓展:The trailer hits all the right beats to excite fans.
To move the narrative forward in a believable way, you have to hit these beats, and so in those cases we have to kind of guide the experience.
To move the narrative forward in a believable way 主干是 you have to hit these beats, and so 连接第二个分句 we have to kind of guide the experience,so 表结果("所以")。
You manage the relationship in the way you hopefully nurture any relationship – which is by spending time together.
You manage the relationship in the way,the way 后是省略了 that/in which 的定语从句 (that) you hopefully nurture any relationship——the way 是英语里少数可以直接跟定语从句、且引导词常被省略的名词之一。破折号后 which 引导非限制性定语从句,which 指代前面整件事"经营感情的方式",is by spending time together 说明这种方式就是"花时间在一起",by doing sth 表示方式。
考点: ① the way 后省略 that/in which 的定语从句(高考、四六级高频考点);② which 指代前文整体内容的非限制性定语从句;③ by doing sth 表方式。
While Jason and Lucia's relationship extends out of the story and into GTA's mechanical systems, he also pointed out that you can decide not to work on your relationship without negatively affecting the experience.
拆解: While 引导让步状语从句("虽然"),从句里 extends out of the story and into GTA's mechanical systems 用了 out of...into... 主句是 he also pointed out that...,that 引导宾语从句;从句里 decide not to work on...
时");② extend out of...into...
1. Jason & Lucia(杰森 & 露西亚):GTA 6 的双主角,一对"亡命鸳鸯"(a couple on the run)——系列首次以男女主角搭档为主线。

As much pressure as... / compare to)
· Q1:B。原文:You'll have to keep them together by spending a bit of time together in the open world。A 与"may not be enough"矛盾,C 只是众多方式之一且不是关键,D 相反。
· Q3:B。原文:when we drove past that car park and Jason suggested we do that job...I changed my mind。A/C/D 均为编造。
· Q4:B。原文:you can decide not to work on your relationship without negatively affecting the experience。
As much pressure as we feel externally, I don't think it can compare to the pressure we put on ourselves as a team.
(踩分点:As + adj. + as 引导让步状语"尽管……";compare to 比得上;put pressure on ourselves 给自己施加压力。
Ultimately, it all comes down to choice.
come down to 是"归根结底是……",比 is 有层次,比 depends on 有力,是新闻评论里的高频收尾句。
· Success comes down to three things: talent, luck, and timing.(成功归根结底是三件事:天赋、运气和时机。)
· The whole debate comes down to one question: who pays?(整场争论归根结底只有一个问题:谁付钱?)
· Good writing comes down to clear thinking.(好文章归根结底来自清晰的思考。)
See you in Leonida.
